Today's quote inadvertently relates to Columbus Day.

A day in which we celebrate a man who had an end goal in mind to set sail to Asia for gold, spices, and silk. Instead what he found was worth more than all the gold, spices, and silk in Asia combined.

This post isn't to talk about Christopher Columbus but we can colloquially extrapolate that he is no different from a small business owner.

Having the end goal in mind, building the team, voyaging into the unknown, and accidentally stumbling into generational success.

It may sound cliché but the fact of the matter is you can find your "America" too. Your end goal.

At 13 yrs old, I began working at my father’s phone store and It was such a great experience learning how to run the business and sell products to new customers. His business was what gave me the opportunity to afford to go to school and gain work experience + skills.

Unfortunately, things took a turn. He struggled keeping his small business afloat and eventually closed the shop. When I asked why, his reasons were just as common as most entrepreneurs I interviewed recently.

1) Location Location Location

2) Lack of an efficient inventory process/system which in turn resulted in lack of adequate inventory on hand
